Poetry by Tammy Ho

LAUNDRY

I'm not sure if I want to pick up our laundry
Tonight. The steep path daunts me,
Once, twice, many times. The pots of lilies
Or roses on both sides don't make walking easier.
Last week, one of your blue Polo socks dropped
On the ground on my way home. In a rush of anger,
I wanted to overturn the whole plastic bag,
And let your ties, shirts, boxers, spit. Eighteen
Pounds of laundry. The weight of two people's
Love and agony.
