Submission Guidelines - Note the changes
- We will accept for this publication a nearly unlimited number of Haiku, within reason. Let us know if the haiku poems are part of a series, collection or would naturally go together.
- We will be publishing four times per year on this schedule, March 21, June 21, September 21 and December 21.
- You can submit your poems via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and as mentioned above, you can send your poems as attachments in a variety of formats, however we prefer Rich Text Format. Submitting the poems in one of these formats will be the best way to ensure that your poems look the same when we receive them as you intended the poem to appear. Otherwise, we find that poems sent in the body of an email message or using the contact form on this site, end up looking different than the way you intended the poem to appear.
- Note regarding formats: Because some people are less tech savvy and may not know how to save files in rich text format, we will accept other formats, such as MS Word, or even Open-Office format but we prefer Rich Text Format, rtf.
- We must have a valid email address and name/pen name or we cannot use your poetry submission(s).
- When submitting poetry for publication, via email, please use for the subject of the email, "Word Salad Haiku Poetry Submissions."
- We would ask that you include your name, first, in the file name(s) if you are submitting your poems as an attachment and it is preferable to remove spaces in the file name. So, for example, if I was submitting a set of poems, I'd name the file BruceWhealtonHaikuSubmissionToWordSalad.rtf
- Please put all poems in one file, along with a cover letter. Hence if I had 10 Haiku to submit, I'd send all 10 in the file BruceWhealtonHaikuSubmissionToWordSalad.rtf
- We won't be very, very picky, if you don't follow each and every guideline to the letter. The prior bullet points are requests that make it easier for is to keep track of submissions and who submitted what. We must have a valid email address and name with each poem or submission of poetry.
