Biographical Statement:
Elizabeth has been writing poetry since a very young age, her first language was Russian and when she came to Canada she fell in love with the English language, she started expressing herself and her thoughts about love and life through her poetry. “I wish that I can speak the way that I write, it always somehow seems to make a stronger statement than just regular speech, I guess that’s why I was always in love with Alexander Pushkin and Shakespeare’s writing; they write in a beautiful rhythm and at the same time say so much.” Russian poets have influenced Elizabeth’s writing tremendously and she attributes her love for poetry to them.
“My experiences have left many scars on my soul, I definitely do write with my soul, I search very deep down until I am able to find the words and the rhythm to express what I felt at that moment, and hopefully the readers will sense this raw pain and joy in my poetry”
