    Nothingness in the Whisper

    You toss away memories once held close–
    keeping those things which cling to the inner
    strings of your heart, caught in cobwebs you
    haven’t cleared away – don’t even want to
    try, knowing pain would flood each nook – crevice
    every space open to the conscious self.

    Those around you fail to understand it;
    they do not practice the art or the craft,
    they do not weave magic with syllables,
    rhythm or rhyme, hear only what they can –
    nothingness in the whisper of wind, rain,
    the quiet of falling snow …or a tear.

    Your eyes alone find the mystery in words,
    written with passion – full of desire.
