    Poetry

This is part of a series, the first is by John David Capps and is titled "The Prince Within the White Room" and is also published in this edition of Word Salad.  The second is this poem by Jean Arthur Jones.

    The White Witch responds

Stare at me.  I have eyes that can turn people to stone..
Fight me.  The bones of heroes litter the walls of my house.
Open you mouth to me, and let me kiss.
    Fresh souls satisfy me.
Dare me and I will reach out my hand.
Take it and stare into my mouth forever.
