Night Stroll
Freezing air rushes to meet my pink cheek
As I walk calmly but casually
My shoes touch the sidewalk with a patter
Echoing up and down the street
The moon overhead like a big ball of ice grins
And the stars encourage me with their blinking
I sip some hot chocolate
And sit on the curb
Taking in the mysteries of night

Miranda,
What a treasure your poem is. Keep on writing down your feelings, wishes, and life's events. Each is a kernel of truth for your future writing.
